2 weeks old

Jackson is 2 weeks old today. In some ways it feels like his has been with us for a lot longer. It is really hard to imagine our lives before Jackson. We went back to the pediatrician yesterday for a weight check. At 1 week old Jack had dropped from 8 lbs. 2 oz. to 7 lbs. 4 oz. at our check up yesterday he was 7 lbs. 11 oz. Nic and I were both relieved and hopefully by next week he will be at his birth weight or more!

After the doctors we went to Sutter Memorial to pass out Thank you gifts. Our first stop was the Ante-Partum Testing unit. For those of you who don't know at 31 weeks Jackson and I had to go for additional tests at the hospital. For two months we would go for Non-stress tests and fluid level checks twice a week. The nurses were so great. They were happy to see a healthy baby! After visiting with them we said good bye and went to labor and delivery. I had gifts for my three wonderful nurses Lori, Sherri-Ann and Jillian. They took such great care of us! Last we stopped off to say a big thanks to our Lactation consultant Lorayne who was such a huge help in "teaching" us both how to breast feed. After a rough start in the hospital I wanted to share with her our success. As a thank you for the past 9 months of driving us to doctors appointments and other errands Jackson and I took Nana Vicky out to lunch at Ettore's. It was sad to say good-bye to all the wonderful people who took such great care of us but we are glad to begin our new adventure together............

Christmas 2008

Jackson's First Christmas was so much fun, although we are all a little tired. The festivities started Christmas Eve at my grammy's house. For almost 30 years Santa has made a stop in El Dorado Hills on Christmas Eve. Jackson got to meet Santa for the very first time.......Too bad dad missed his visit. :-) The next morning we spent at my parents house. This was the first time in 28 years that I did not wake up on Christmas morning at my parents house. Luckily I only live down the street! We had a wonderful breakfast complete with Mimosa's. Kelli made Jackson a stocking and it is adorable! Thanks Kelli for all your hard work, hope your fingers are recovering! Later that day we drove to Cameron Park to the Anderson Christmas festivities. The guys exchanged gifts in a crazy "white elephant" exchange. While the girls opted to draw a name and buy for a specific person. We did however bring our favorite thing under $10 and did a "white elephant" exchange too. It was so fun to see every one's choices, from the ped egg, lip gloss, body cream and scarfs it was great fun! I ended up with Kelli's favorite things, Carmex, Kiels #1 lip balm and a big bag of Wintergreen lifesavers. Luckily we had a day to rest before the Haviland Christmas on Saturday. Nic's Auntie Anne and Cousins Grant and Laura were able to join us via web cam and got to see Baby Jackson. Baby Jackson got his first Hallmark ornament. Nic's Grandma buys everyone a Hallmark ornament on Christmas. She does all her shopping in June and buys the most perfect ornaments for everyone! Mya Sue is even included and has quite a collection of Hallmark dog ornaments. After FOUR family Christmas gatherings we feel very blessed to have such wonderful family who showered us with gifts and love! We hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Wow, what a difference a week makes. This time last week I was feeling miserable and anxious to when Jackson was going to make his arrival. Here are some of our favorite photos of our little man, including the ride home from the hospital. Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who came to see us in the hospital, we checked out of Hotel Sutter after staying there 5 days. We really missed Mya Sue and of course our bed! Here are some of Jackson's first visitors.......Also for those of you who decided to wait and meet Jackson due to the possibility of being sick. Jackson can't wait to meet everyone when they are feeling better! Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Nic, Jackson and I really appreciate it!
