Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. It was great to have Nic home an extra day and half! First we want to thank everyone who has or is serving our country and protecting our freedom and family.......A Big Thanks for your hard, honorable and courageous work!!!!

Nic and I went up to Fairplay on Saturday to visit some of the wineries and celebrate our friend Kara's birthday. The weather was perfect and we had a great time!

Saturday was also the college graduation of my best friend Heidi and her boyfriend Keith. They both have jobs waiting for them and we are so proud of them!

On Sunday we went to Chico for my cousin Josh's graduation. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. It was EXTRA special because my grandpa is a civil engineer and got to see the legacy continue. Along with Nic who is a mechanical engineer, Josh got his "order of the engineer" ring. This ring worn on the pinky finger of your dominant hand reminds the engineer to maintain ethics and high standards in their work.

Birthday Weekend

This past Friday was my 29th birthday and we had a whole weekend of fun stuff planned! On Friday I had coffee with my mommy friends and celebrated with a fruit cup and a glass of iced tea. I know crazy hardcore right? My friend Kim brought a candle and balloons with candy that I could eat. We stuck the candle in a grape and I made my wish. I also said that next year we are going all out and I'm buying a cake from Ettore's to really indulge! Friday night Nic, Jackson and I went out to dinner and spent a nice evening together.

Saturday we went to our friend Rustin's house who had a birthday BBQ lunch. Jackson got to meet a cutie named Ashlyn, who is 7 months old. She grabbed his face for a second and it either scared him or hurt him and he started crying, well like a baby! He stuck his bottom lip out and all, of course Nic and I cracked up at the little "drama boy". He quickly snapped out of it and we had a great day! Happy Birthday Rustin! Rustin is working hard at his doctorate in mechanical engineering at UCD, next year it will be Happy Birthday Dr. Vogt!

Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.....although the elimination of eggs from my diet has proven a little challenging I managed to enjoy, potatoes, bacon and fruit! We then got ready to head down to the Consumes river with our friends Heidi and Keith. We packed up snacks, water, hats, sunblock and sunglasses for our journey less that 2 miles away! The weather topped out at 102 degrees and the water felt so good! Keith and Heidi were well prepared with an umbrella, chairs and lots of water! We had a great day relaxing and enjoying this treat literally in our backyard! We came home got cleaned up and headed to my parents for a birthday dinner. My dad grilled tri-tip and veggies, and mom made a yummy salad, lots of rice for me and raspberry sorbet with strawberries for dessert. My sister and her boyfriend came up to celebrate. Thanks to everyone for your calls, emails, texts and gifts! My first birthday as a mom was very special!

Mother's Day Weekend

Well my first Mother's was awesome! My sister's best friend Kristi got married in Stockton. Nic and Jackson dropped off my mom and I at the wedding. Then they went to Nic's mom's house and celebrated Mother's Day with her, while we were at the wedding. Kristi was a beautiful bride and Kelli was a fabulous maid of honor. Kelli came over the week before and we designed a wedding make-up look for her. She did it herself and looked so beautiful. Good Job Sis!

Sunday we had a lazy day.....Nic and Jackson made me breakfast, we did a little unpacking then went to my mom's for dinner. Nic and my mom made a fabulous menu and my dad made yummy margaritas. The Anderson family came over and we ate dinner and enjoyed spending the day together. Nic and Jackson got me a beautiful ring and pink roses. It was a very special day. I am truly blessed to have a great mom, loving husband and a beautiful happy son. Happy Mother's Day to all of the hardworking, patient and loving moms out there. We Rock!!!!
