Ski

Two years ago we bought Jack snow skis. He was much more confident with them this year. I think next year he will be ready for a lesson, helmet & a lift ticket! This year we just practiced in a great area by the cabin. When he would fall he woud laugh and get right back up. So proud of him! Though I can't lie a little nervous too!

Hodgepodge pictures

This GIANT Caramel apple came in the mail........ Hands down one of the best things I've ate! Williams Sonoma you rock! :)

Preschool fundraiser....each family buys or sells 12 tickets at $5 a piece, to Children's store. Each family and teachers make 12 of the same gift. I made a lavender foot scrub and packaged it up with cute socks. Then each child "shops" for their family with a helper. Parents enjoy coffee and snacks while child secretly shops then leaves with wrapped gifts. I love how this is teaching Jackson about the joy of giving! I can't wait to see what he got everyone. He was very methodical and took 45 mins to buy 12 gifts.

Zzzzzzz....

Sleeping on the "blog job"
But I'm back and excited to share all the fun stuff we've been up to lately.

It's so funny all the things kids "need" in their bed at night! It doesn't seem to bug Jack who sleeps almost 12 hours at night :)

Change

The last few weeks have been ones filled with lots of change. The most drastic being that my sister & her husband have moved out of state. They now call San Antonio, Texas home! An exciting new adventure full of lots of opportunity, change and adventure for them. Sadness, happiness for them and hope that one day they will move back to California fill our hearts here. It's hard because we have been so blessed at times taking it for granted that every holiday, random dinners, birthdays etc we have all spent together. Skype, facebook, texts and emails will now become our new normal. I am thankful of that! Best of luck to the Peterson Family we will miss you so much and are so proud of you both!!! Love you guys!
As if that isn't enough change my little boy has started preschool!!! September 2nd was his first day. The preschool is on an actual ranch, driving in the gates we get to see cows, horses and goats. It's a wonderful program with three incredible teachers, the main teacher is Stanford educated. He has 11 other kids in his class. He goes twice a week for 3 hours. I am so excited for him and all the fun that awaits him. The program is a co-op so I get to volunteer in the classroom once a month, super excited! I will post pictures from his first day soon! He did great no tears, confident and excited. He is an amazing little guy and I am so proud to be his mommy!
After all this "change" we decided to head to San Diego for 5 days for some rest, relaxation and of course our family favorite the beach!!!! We just got home last night, pictures of all our changes coming soon.

Today I explained (with age appropriateness) September 11th to Jackson. A celebration of those who have given their lives to make us safe, for the love of this amazing country we call home. The land of the free....the home of the brave.

We will never forget.

God bless America!

Turtle

A few weekends ago we hopped in our golf cart and headed to my parents to swim. As we drove we saw something in the street that looked like an a big mossy rock. We turned around to further investigate (jacks words). We realized it was a pond turtle who had gotten out of the creek behind our house. Man this little guy was lucky we found him, a big truck was right behind us. We used a poop bag to pick him up. Ok I did not touch him it was all Nic. I'm just the paparazzi :). We drove over to my parents and took him to Lake Guadulupe behind their house. He was gorgeous and seemed happy to be in a safe place. Jack named him Shiny Lucky Cute Turtle (3 year olds!) and still waves to him as we drive my the lake.

Bowling

Last Sunday we went bowling with my parents and my sister. We weren't really sure if Jackson would play a whole game....boy were we wrong. From the moment he got his own pair of bowling shoes. They have bowling shoes as small as a Toddler 8, he had a blast! Well actually he kicked all of our butts and the sad part was we were all trying our best. Not really our style to "let someone win" on purpose. For the record Nic and my parents played without bumpers while Jackson, Kiki and I did. He was so excited when it was his turn. He always tried his best, didn't get bored and played two complete games. The highlight was two strikes back to back! Yes his ball didn't go fast but he didn't use the helper he threw it down every time all by himself. He has been asking to go back almost every day this week. I love this kid! Check out our pics from our fun night!

Teeny & Tiny

We have a doe & her babies that have been hanging out in our redwood trees behind our house.  While it is driving Teddy crazy, Jack & I have enjoyed watching them.  He has named the babies Teeny & Tiny and their mom Michelle (clever huh?!)  They are so cute and fast!  I was lucky to capture these shots.
