Superbowl 2009

Jackson went to his first Superbowl Party. Unfortunately the Cardinals lost but Jackson won the 2nd Quarter Pool winning $40! We had a great time at Gregg and Michele's. Jackson loves loud noises so he was a happy camper among the cheering fans! He even got to see horses, a goat and the beautiful Scarlett Rose, who is a Rat Terrier she was very interested in Jackson. Of course there was a little drama during halftime. Nic was playing basketball and passed the ball to my sister, who was or wasn't paying attention (I kept getting conflicting stories!) Anyway she jammed her finger and ended up with a pinky twice its normal size! We had a great time and hopefully Jackson will win again next year!!

Almost 6 weeks

It's hard to believe that Jackson will be 6 weeks on Tuesday!! Time has gone by so fast...I can't think of what life before Jackson was like! I do however remember how great it feels not to be pregnant!!

We have been super busy over the past two weeks.....Jackson and I have a great routine going during the day. He is finally able to hold his head up for an extended period of time so we are LOVING the Baby Bjorn. I am able to walk and check the mail, do dishes, fold laundry (you get the picture) it is a lifesaver!! I have so many favorite baby items the next baby shower I go to is going to get, "Michelle's Favorite Things" as a gift. Nic and I were laughing about how after our showers we were skeptical about, does ONE baby need all this stuff and really do you need a bouncer and a swing, how many onesies and blankets will he go through? The answer is yes,yes and a whole lot!! Thanks again to everyone for their generosity. We think of you every time we use all this cool stuff!

Last weekend we had a bunch of our friends over to meet Jackson. He of course slept throughout the party. He loves noisy loud environments. Thanks to everyone for visiting Jackson and his parents. It was also fun to celebrate the engagement of our good friends Brian and Cat. We are so excited for them and can't wait for the big day!! On Saturday, Jackson went to his very first birthday party. My friend Michele (who I have known since the fifth grade!) her youngest son Mason turned 1. He is such a cutie and had a blast eating his cake. He got pretty messy with frosting and especially loved using it as hair gel! Happy Birthday Mason!
My sister Kelli came up this weekend and spent sometime with Jackson. We went shopping and dealt with our first diaper "blowout" in public. Luckily with her help and the help of a well stocked diaper bag, we were up and running in no time. Jackson doesn't really care much for shopping (I'm convinced his daddy told him that its not much fun!!) He loves traveling in the car, which is so nice for everyone riding in the car! He is starting to smile and recognizing different voices. We are on a great sleeping schedule of 6-61/2 hours since about week three!

Nic and I are good sleepers and thankfully Jackson is too!! He is such a happy baby and is blessed to have so many people who love him.......Have a wonderful week and we will keep you posted on the wonderful world of Jackson!

Weekend Fun

On Saturday, Nic and I left Jackson with my parents. I was a little anxious but knew my parents would take great care of him (I just hoped he was an angel while we were gone!) Nic and I went to a surprise 30th birthday party for my friend Kim. Kim and I were hired the same time at Sephora and hit it off instantly. She has been a great friend and role model to me. She has two beautiful girls and is such a great mom! It's hard to believe we have been friends since 2003! Happy Birthday Kim, 30 never looked so beautiful!! Jackson got a A+ report from his grandparents!

On Saturday it was sunny and 60 degrees outside so we took Jackson on his first walk around the lake. He slept the whole time and seemed to enjoy it! It was great to be outside in the sunshine. I am really looking forward to springtime. Jackson has been much more alert these days. He is mesmerized by a painting we have above our bed. He just stares and stares at it. We decided that he needed some more stimulating toys so we bought him a rain forest baby gym. He loves it and especially enjoys looking at the butterflies. There is a small mirror and he loves looking at himself too! He is getting so big it's amazing how much he has changed in these last weeks!

On Sunday we drove down to Stockton to see Nic's parents and watch the Charger game. We had a great time despite watching the Chargers lose. We had Dave Wong's Chinese food which is a favorite restaurant of ours. We had a great time visiting and thankfully Jackson loves to ride in the car which makes it enjoyable for all of us to go places. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

3 weeks!

On Monday Jackson went to his doctors office for a weight check. A week ago he was 7 lbs. 11 oz. This week were so excited when Jackson passed his birth weight of 8 lbs 2 oz to a whopping 8 lbs. 7 oz!! I can't believe that he is still smaller than I was when I was born at 9 lbs. 1 oz. (Thanks mom!!) The doctor was very pleased with his progress. I wasn't surprised because he has been eating non stop and his clothes are fitting much better! Jackson goes back for his 2 month check up in February.

We haven't really been doing anything to exciting. Our days consist of eating, changing diapers, and sleeping. We repeat that pattern all day long!! Nic went back to work on Monday and we miss him so much. He was such a big help especially the first 10 days after my surgery when I really could not do much of anything. Every day is getting easier and I am finally able to lay flat when I sleep! Well its time for our nap.....Hope everyone has a great weekend! GO CHARGERS!!!
