Folsom Zoo

On Saturday morning we decided to take Jackson on his first visit to the zoo. We left early to avoid the heat. Jackson had a great time looking at the animals and also people watching, too. I think he got that from me, lol! He liked the bears who were swimming and playing with each other. He also enjoyed watching the mountain lion who was pacing in his cage. The Folsom zoo also has a little train that you can ride around the park. Unfortunately Jackson feel asleep before we had a chance to ride the train. However, I have a feeling we will be back real soon!!

July 4th 2009

Jackson's first 4th of July was a lot of fun.....though I think we crammed a little to much into one day! We started out early with the Rancho Murieta pancake breakfast. We walked back to our house and had a short time before the annual parade down the parkway. It is kind of cheesy....there are the baseball and softball teams in the parade, along with our fire fighters and other community members. Perhaps the most fun is to see golf carts head down the parkway. This year there was over 100 carts. People decorate them and throw candy at the crowd. Our favorites were the Disney movie "Up" themed cart, and the "bathtub" cart. After the parade my grandparents, my mom and sister and my aunt & uncle went home to relax for a bit. Thankfully we were able to have some "downtime"....I'm not sure if I could handle family from 7:30am -10pm!

Nic, Jackson and I headed into Sacramento to attend a BBQ. Luckily it gave Jackson a chance to nap....since our day was not over! We then went back to my Aunt & Uncle's for another BBQ and swimming! Jackson had a GREAT time swimming with his cousins....especially Josh who was teaching him how to pass the basketball in the pool.

We then had to hurry home to get our house ready for the 2nd half of the night.....Dessert and Fireworks! Nic was thrilled to have the Foosball table get a lot of use....I'm not much of a player! The fireworks were spectacular! You could see them perfectly from our house....Although the day was extra busy, we had a great time celebrating the Fourth of July!

Swimming

Jackson is already enjoying his first summer......I bought a little kiddie pool at Target. Nic and Jackson gave it a test run on Wednesday. As the pictures show.......it was a big SUCCESS!

Busy Week

On Tuesday my cousin Sean graduated from high school.....man how time flies! Sean took his first steps with my sister and I in a model home of all places!! I feel so old!!! Sean is going to college in Oregon. Congratulations Sean Mathew!!!

On Saturday we had a busy day.......I went to the Nordstrom Summer Trend show with my mom and Grandma. We had a blast and came home with some great products! Nic and Jackson picked me up at Nordstrom and we headed to the Nic's company summer picnic. We had a fun time. Jackson got to meet some of the people his dad works with and they had a raffle and I won an iPod shuffle! One last stop on this busy day was close to home. Our good friends Heidi and Keith had a graduation party at Lake Clementia in Rancho Murieta. We stayed at the party the rest of the night and even got to hear the concert that was going on that night!

Sunday June 7th was my mommy's birthday!!! We had another big day planned.......my parents, my sister, her boyfriend Grant and the three of us headed just up the road to Plymouth to taste some of the yummy Amador wines. We brought a picnic lunch and had a great day! And just to toot my own horn......I was the responsible designated driver to take care of the people who I love the most! The night finished with a graduation party for my cousin Sean. A great week!

The End!!!!
