Disneyland

On our way to DISNEYLAND!!!

Family Picture

Very first ride.....Pirates!!!

Nic and I took Jackson to Disneyland the week after Labor Day. It was such a fun experience for all three of us. Jackson's first ride was the Pirates of the Caribbean. He loved looking at all the people.

He also enjoyed, Small World. He rode on the boat laughing and kicking his legs while watching the children and characters.

We think his favorite ride was Dumbo. He loved going up and down. Ironically, Dumbo looks very similar to all of the elephants on his Pottery Barn bedding, in his nursery, maybe it just made him feel at home!!

Dumbo is so fun!

Jungle Cruise

He was such an angel! Though it was a bit different "parking" the stroller all the time.....taking advantage of the "rider swap pass" was awesome. This was better than "fast pass", you walked up to the ride and ask for a rider swap....the first rider gets to go to the front of the line. The second rider gets a piece of paper that they can use to do the same thing once the first rider gets back. No specific "fast pass" times to come back at, ride the ride when you want to!! The park was pretty dead and we walked up to most rides.

Nic, Jackson and Tow Mater

For our anniversary Nic took me to the Blue Bayou for the non Disney fanatics ( the first class restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean) We got a table right by the water, the food was fantastic, fortunately our child was not!! Trying to feed a baby in a romantic dimly lit restaurant was not fun. Luckily Nic took him outside for a quick walk and came back with a sleeping angel!! We also bought Jackson his first set of Mouse Ears complete with his name on them.

1st set of Mouse Ears

I also bought Jackson a Disney wardrobe so he was decked head to toe in all Disney stuff everyday.....a little overboard, maybe.....but worth it as he looked so adorable!! We celebrated our 4 year anniversary in the Happiest Place on Earth as a family of three!! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who works so hard to provide a wonderful life for us. We love going on "ventures" and can't wait to take Jackson to the other Happiest Place on Earth next your for our 5 year anniversary........MAUI!!!

8 months

Dear Jackson,

We love you so much and can't even remember what our life was like before you were born. You are such a happy baby. You bring smiles and joy to everyone who meets you. We are so blessed to call you our son and we love you to the moon! Here are some of the things you have been up to.........

-You started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old since then you have become an even better sleeper....you go to bed at 8pm and wake up at 6 am. We love that!!

-You are a very strong boy.....you rolled over to your back at 8 weeks old......you rolled from you back to tummy and tummy to back at 15 weeks. You sat supported at 15 weeks....you sat by yourself at 6 months and started crawling just before you turned 7 months. Now you love to pull yourself up on everything. Mommy and Daddy love to come in your room in the morning to see you standing in your crib smiling and so proud of yourself!!! ( I will get a video of that soon)

- You love to scrunch up your face and make raspberries at people.

- You love to laugh at your dogs Mya Sue and Milo.

-You love to be outside.....whether it's taking a cruise in the golf cart, walking with mom or watering the plants with dad.....you love looking at the trees and maybe even spotting a few deer, too!

- You are allergic to Dairy but we are hoping that you will outgrow that especially since Mommy was allergic to Dairy, Wheat and Citrus as a baby.

- Your diet is expanding to include Avocados, Sweet Potatoes and Oatmeal. You love to eat and you are such a clean eater!!

-You love to be around us.....watching what we are doing and being a part of the action. No playing by yourself!!!

- You love to be "worn" in one of the many slings and carriers we have

- Your favorite toys are Sofie Le Giraffe, Handy Manny, your night-time Seahorse, your ring toy and cardboard boxes!!!

- You have NO teeth yet....but I'm sure they coming!

-You love bath time in your little tub but hate the "big" bathtub.....we are going to try that again in a few weeks!

-Sometimes on special occasions Mommy lets you watch a Baby Einstein DVD and you love that!!

- You are starting to wave "hi" to some people

- We have many nicknames for you are favorites are......Jack Jack, Num, Numi, Num Yummy, Chunks, and Buddy.

I could go on and on.........

We can't wait to teach you more and show you the world.....we feel so lucky to be your parents!

When you were first born Mommy had this poem on the fridge by Maya Angelo

I (We) did what I (We) knew
When I (We)knew better
I (We) did better

We love you Jackson!

Pulling Up

So for those of you that thought we posed Jackson in those "pulling up" pictures......here is a video for all those skeptics out there :-) Enjoy!

Tahoe

Last weekend was our first official family trip. Our good friend JJ who we have known since high school, mom was getting married in Lake Tahoe. JJ and his wife Casey had a baby boy Jake on November 6th 2008, so he is only 6 weeks older than Jackson. This was going to be the first time that they have met. JJ is a Marine and is stationed in San Diego, so it's been a little challenging getting the babies together. This was also a special trip because he is being deployed October 1st for 12-14 months. It was a weekend of wedding fun, baby meeting and bonding time.

We left for Tahoe on Friday and went to a BBQ for all the out of town guest coming up early for the wedding. Jake and Jackson were so cute together.....Not quite sure what happened in the crying picture, but I love it!! The three of us headed back to the hotel around 8pm to get Jackson to sleep. This was the first time sleeping in the pack n play.....and it was a complete success! Nic got ready and left to meet the guys at the casino. I have to say it was quite boring being stuck in a hotel room with a sleeping baby at 8:30 on a Friday night! I caught up on some shows and went to bed......only to be awakened at a ridiculous hour by my DH (darling husband) because his room key didn't work, lol!

On Saturday we headed to Sprouts, one of our favorite little places to eat in Tahoe. We had two bowls of yummy Olympic oatmeal with granola, banana's and brown sugar with rice milk and a carrot, cucumber and apple juice. Nic was a little full from the Chicken fried steak he ate at 2 am but he took one for the team and ate again with me. Nic headed off the golf course while Jackson and I took a 2 hour walk around Tahoe. We had a great time, did some shopping, went to the Marina, went to the Lake and did a lot of people watching!! We picked up Nic, got lunch and had a picnic by the Lake.

We all enjoyed a nap and then got ready for the wedding. The wedding was held on a yacht....it was beautiful! We cruised the Lake and enjoyed the sunset over Emerald bay. It was a great time! After the shipped docked at 9pm we headed back to the hotel. Nic went out again while Jackson and I caught some zzz's at the hotel. The next morning we enjoyed a great brunch at Riva Grill.....one of my favorites! Then back to life.....back to reality! Luckily this trip was a great trial run for Disneyland in less than 3 weeks.....yippee!!!
